The Livermore Rodeo – Worlds Fastest Rodeo is coming into town. The second weekend of June is always rodeo weekend. It is such a wonderful event for all ages. The week is full of events, mixers, family day, rodeo parade and the rodeo events.
The week starts off Wednesday with the rodeo mixer. It used to be an adults only party but it looks like children are now permitted to attend that night. Be careful though, the bartenders tend to have a heavy hand. Do the 2 to 1 method, 2 beverages to 1 bottle of water. The bbq dinner is so good, it’ll make your mouth water when you walk in and smell the cooking. That starts at 5:30pm
Family night is Thursday night. The evening starts at 4:30 and tickets are only $1. Who doesn’t like a $1 entry fee? The kids will love to get up close and personal with the animals.
Saturday morning starts with the rodeo parade. It starts at 10am SHARP. The parade route is on 2nd street. Its a lot of fun to see all the horses and all the families that come together and watch it. Get there early since people will put their chairs out and wait. And don’t forget to pack the sunscreen. The weather this weekend will be amazing for a downtown parade. Oh and if you have your cowboy hat, dust it off and wear it too!
The rodeo starts at 3pm. Venders and food will be out before hand so you can walk around and check things out.
The seats are bleachers so bring your cushion. Sitting there for a couple hours without anything, can be a little achy.
If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, head to our local shop, Baughmans, on First Street. (The place with the big horse in front) Or buy your tickets through their website here. While you are there, check out their shirts and boots. You never know, you may find yourself with a new outfit for the weekend.
