The Little Mermaid: A night of theater for the Disney lovers
Do you or anyone you know love all things Disney? Elsa, Anna, Tiana, Merida… I love seeing all these costumes everywhere at Halloween and hearing stories about incessant singing and make believe play. Although, I usually miss out on all of that with my house of boys. The new classics are great, but so are the princesses of my childhood: Jasmine, Pocahontas, Belle, and of course, the Little Mermaid Ariel.
Encourage young actors and actresses
Good news! Grand Performing Arts is putting on 6 high quality shows at the Livermore High School theatre this month. Seeing these shows is not only fun for you, but a great way to encourage local young artists to continue honing their performing arts skills. Imagine the thrill of a young actor peeking out unto a full, buzzing, crowd. Your own little princess (or prince!) will not only enjoy the show, but may also be inspired to join the company as well. Don’t miss a great chance to expose your children to theatre with this beloved classic!
More about Grand Performing Arts
Located in Dublin, CA, Grand Performing Arts’ main staff is comprised of four experienced, passionate, theatre professionals. GPA is education based and seeks not simply to teach song and dance to their pupils (both young and old alike). Check out their mission statement, “To Educate, guide and share a love and appreciation of Theater Arts. To celebrate diversity, build confidence and learn to work together as a team while building confidence, communication skills, self worth and performance skills. To provide a safe place of expression, creativity and a commitment to nurturing and creating artists from the inside out.” Additionally, as a part of their belief that all children should have access to this creative outlet, they partner with local business to make need based scholarships available.
