According to Treehugger.com, “Americans dump 16 tons of sewage into their waters, every minute.” Doesn’t that just make you cringe? Obviously keeping our environment clean and healthy is extremely important, so why not start with what surrounds our homes, schools and workplaces? Taking one small step can create a major impact!
Whether you’re a student looking for good community service hours or just wanting to be more active with Livermore’s community and environment; this is the perfect thing! Growing up, I often went camping and was able to enjoy and appreciate the nature surrounding us. Now that I’m older, I’ve repaid nature for its splendid memories and moments by volunteering to clean, protect and preserve nature. Living Arroyo was initiated to help clean and protect the beautiful streams and riparian habitats surrounding Livermore, Dublin and Pleasanton.
Livermore’s beautiful scenery and nature is due to those who participate in helping replant trees, reduce invasive species and keeping plants healthy. Living Arroyos dedicates their time and energy so that our backyards are gorgeous and healthy. So that our water sources won’t become depleted and ruined. Streams and creeks are also home to many species that are significant to our world. If you want to partake in keeping Livermore clean or maybe just getting more involved with community service, take a peek at Living Arroyos. They have many dates so that you can find whatever works best with your schedule.
Take a day off to appreciate and help your environment with friends and family. Maybe incorporate this into your week’s work out schedule! I volunteered with a nearby group and I made many friends and memories; why miss out on that? Here are before and after pictures that Living Arroyo volunteers take pride in!
