Well I was VERY fortunate enough to see a soft opening of Hop DeVine. It is a new beer and wine bar with food located off N. Vasco.
I love the idea of the location. It’s not down town where everyone else is, its close to the 580, Tracy and on your way home from the Delta. For the people of Springtown and N. Livermore, this is going to be their local hangout spot. I grew up over in that area, and let me tell you, I wish it was around when I was living over there so I had a place to go.
Lets start with Rusty, the owner. The guy is killing it! He’s a local guy who used to work for Altamont Beer Works until he started Hop DeVine. Such a nice guy. Whenever I was in Altamont, I would see him busting his butt getting drinks, fixing kegs, getting merchandise down for customers, all while having a good time and making the customers feel welcomed. He brings this energy to Hop DeVine.
Not only is he a hard worker, but his staff are working just as hard. We got to their soft opening shortly after it started and you could tell the staff was ready for everything. They were super knowledgeable, friendly, but most importantly, professional. We walked right up to the bar, ordered our drinks and grabbed a menu to sit down.
Their seating is ideal. There were 4 large benches for Family Style, 5 glass table tops, standing areas, a lounge booth, and a bunch of outside tables. It will be PERFECT for those warm summer nights. The one thing I would have hoped for was heaters outside since it was a bit cold the night we went.
The menu that Rusty and his chef have created is WONDERFUL! A little mix of everything. A few apps including a cheese and charcuterie board, a couple salads, sandwiches, and even a couple items for the little tikes in our lives. The salads are perfect to share with another appetizer or two, or to eat alone.
Besides Hop DeVine being a cool hangout place, it is also family friendly. The family style tables are perfect for the large group of friends or your average size family. There are 4 TVs that WILL have on all A’s games and Warrior games (Go DUBS!) The music in the background wasn’t too loud that you felt like you were shouting over everyone.
So, if you’re looking for a new place to try, please go say Hi to Rusty and the rest of his staff at Hop DeVine. You won’t be disappointed.
