Fireworks in Livermore
Boy do I love this holiday! What a better way to celebrate the birth of America becoming an independent nation, than bbq-ing with family and friends. When I think of this holiday, I go back to my childhood, hanging out in my neighborhood, going swimming, playing in a big jump house, having great food cooked by my amazing mom and our friends, rocket car races down our street, and then driving to watch the fireworks!
About 3 years ago, the fireworks stopped at Robertson Park and the City of Livermore partnered with the Livermore Downtown Inc to take over the fireworks and put them downtown. The rumor speculated that it was too expensive and the city didn’t want to pay for it, but my friend who works for Livermore Downtown Inc said “LARPD stopped hosting it due to the artificial turf that was put in as well as the housing that was developed taking over a lot of the space needed.” Now it makes sense!
Since the City of Livermore and the Livermore Downtown Inc took over, it has a family block party vibe to it. First St. is closed down at 4pm just in time for you to get your blankets and chairs out and get the “PERFECT” spot! The best part about this is, you can also walk up and down First St. checking out our awesome shops we have, and delicious restaurants as well. You may even step into a shop with a 4th of July shopping special?! And who doesn’t love a good surprise special?
Grab your lawn chairs, blankets and your family, and meet me downtown to watch this awesome show that our beautiful town puts on. Check out their flyer to see more information!
I made many memories as a kid watching the firework show at Robertson Park growing up, and I cannot wait for my children to make memories of our downtown fireworks show!
