Cycling 4 Veterans
We are proud to announce the second annual Cycling 4 Veterans (C4V) ride on Saturday, October 8, 2016 hosted by Veterans First Program at Las Positas College and the C4V volunteer group organizers. As a veterans and military supported event, C4V is leading the way in Northern California, and this year they are featuring three epic rides for 30 miles, 55 miles and 115 miles!
Check your bike’s tire pressure! Grab your helmets! It’s time for Cycling 4 Veterans! Hosted by Las Positas College’s Veteran’s First Program and C4V, this bicycle event is all for supporting our veterans! Along with all the cycling, there will be also be food, music, drinks and much more including a guest appearance by professional bicyclist champion Freddie Rodriguez!
This is the second annual Cycling 4 Veterans having followed a very successful year. This fundraiser is by far the most fun and engaging event for those who are veterans, active duty or simply supporting them. This year’s goal is to exceed last years fund raised amount of $30,000! All the proceeds go to support military and veteran organizations such as Sentinels of Freedom, Las Positas College Veterans First Program, Pleasanton Military Families and much more!
As a military brat, I have such profound respect for our troops and the brave families who support their soldiers so this event is amazing in the sense that it conveys the support and love from our local community for our veterans. Having been surrounded by veterans all my life, I also see the significance of supporting our veterans who return to finish school or get a civilian job. While the transition may be different for our veterans to return to school, the support and help they receive from on campus organizations truly is important. Livermore’s Las Positas College is very fortunate and blessed to have a great organization that guides and helps veterans returning to school.
If you’re not one to bicycle, then you can come support the riders and enjoy the bands, foods, drinks, and all other activities to be offered! There will also be a guest appearance from 4 time national road race champion Freddie Rodriguez who will discuss his stories and tales! This will be a fun eventful day so bring your friends and families! You can meet new people and easily support our community’s heroes!
